Classic circuit of the langdale Pikes, starting from Rhubarb Cottage AirBnB in Chapel Stile. solo (Helen and Janet doing an easy low-level hike) Acidentally started off in the wrong direction past the Wainwright pub but that enabled me to take some nice photos of Chapel Stile from a distance. Walked up the road to the new Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, up Dungeon Ghyll to Stickle tarn then Pavey Ark, Thunacar Knott (Views North to Skiddaw but otherwise a boring detour across a boggy moor), Harrison Stickle (Missed out Loft Crag), Pike of Stickle (some scrambling), Martcrag Moor, Stake Pass (met woman from Deep River here), Black Crags, Rosset Crag, Angle Tarn, Rossett Pike (Great view down Mickleden), Rossett Gill (long rocky descent), back to Chapel Stile. Long tiring day but a bucket list hike on a day with fab weather (should have worn shorts!). Next time drive to hotel (expensive parking) and hike with H up to Stickle Tarn and/or Dungeon Ghyll Force (not seen this time).
