ETA Bike ride Blackburn Hamlet - Embrun

Ride to Embrun from Alan Bolster's place at 35 Wedgewood in Blackburn Hamlet, with a civilized start time of 9:30 a.m. The ride is 85-105 km with long lunch stop at La Boulangerie du Village Bakery in Embrun (very close to the brewpub). Ed's 68th birthday, so the bakery made a good (by Canadian standards) Black Forest Cake to celebrate. 15 total riders (11M/4F), with about 3 doing the shortest route, half a dozen (inc. me) each doing the medium and the long routes. Weather sunny and 26C, but clouding over in the afternoon, so not crazy hot. A bit of traffic on rougher/gravelly roads in the afternoon, but the morning was quiet with smooth roads. Lots of mechanical problems: a flat before we even set off, a broken spoke, and a spectacular tire (not just inner) blowout.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
