New Route! We took the newly opened Somerville Community Path in conjunction with the Minuteman path all the way in. The return route was also different in coming back through Winchester and finishing on the dirt-paved track around the Arlington Res. LOVED it, and happy that despite the length of the ride (and late hills) I felt ok!
Beautiful sunny day in low-50s to low-60s with some wind. By the end I was in shorts & short-sleeves, altho layers were a great idea for the start.
Many familiar faces and a few new ones: Tom, Joy, Nancy, Gaille, Dan, David, Sue, Ellen & Allen, Amy (met her on one of Joy's Thursday rides), Diana "Di" (rode with Tom last Spring until she tore her rotator cuff), "OC" from Newton, and Andy (husband of Jane from hiking) and me.
Ellen got a bubbly tire (aneurisms ready to burst) so stopped in cemetary on the return & waited for Allen to ride home and pick her up. Joy took this opportunity to cut the ride short and head home a more direct route, with a couple riders following her back.
