Linville Crusher Hike and Bike

This was a (mostly) gravel ridearound Linville Gorge, including a trip up Wolf Pit Road. It included side hikes to Pinnacle, the Gold Coast cliffs, Wisemans View, Table Rock and Shortoff Mountain. A goal for several years. Quite an adventure.
Cycling miles - 55 (elev. 6480').
Hiking miles - 8.2 (elev. 2280').
Crappy gravel roads - Boy howdy!
Total mileage - 63.2 w/ 8760' of gain.
RideWithGPS shows 67 miles. I'm good with my Garmin numbers.
Finished in just under 12 hours.
I'm calling it The Linville Crusher - Bike and Hikeathon. Give it a go. While you may not be first.... you can be next Wooo!

    Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices

  • TCX Course

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
