Ill-Fated Klickitat County Ride

Was having a great time on a glorious day when a bee flew into my helmet by my ear and I reflexively swatted it. Bad move. I lost control of the bike in deeper gravel and fell. The result was a broken femur below the head where it connects in the pelvis. Good luck followed. A lost EMT found me 20 minutes later. An ambulance took me to MCMC in The Dalles. The doctor on call was a renowned specialist in the procedure I needed. I now have a rod in the top of my femur and three screws holding it in place. No more rides for this cyclist for several months. In good spirits and looking at recovery as another life adventure. Cycle on!

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
