Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

I really enjoyed this ride. I followed the route I had planned out yesterday and only had three places where I had to slow down or hunt for where to turn. One was at 300 N which momentarily made me question that I was going too far south before turning east. But I figured out after a look at the map, that it is 300 South where I was to turn. The next was going over the freeway. The I thought I was to take the slightly southerly route over the freeway to cross it, but the signage made it look like that would take me onto the freeway. I had to slow down and pull over to think it through. The third and final one, I ran through the traffic circle and immediately realized this was the one I was to turn on so I turned around and went to where I was supposed to go. But, I had to ride past a few streets before I realized the planned route was actually a gravel road of about 1/4 mile. I took it and went at quite a good pace (about 15 mph it seems), so it wasn't a bad road. I rather liked it.
As I started out, the first round-about I came to at 2000 S and Sandhill Rd I went around it to make about a 120 degree turn. I took the round-about fast enough that about 10 to 20 feet of it was on two wheels. It was a balanced lifting of the inner rear wheel. I entered the round-about at 14 mph and exited at 16 mph.
The next round-about I came to was at the bottom of the hill coming down 860 N at the intersection with 820 N. I did that one on two wheels also. I entered the round-about at 20 mph and exited at 18 mph.
Climbing the hill on Slate Canyon Drive I dropped to just over 5 mph, but the hill reached just over 7% gradient. Coming down the other side I had a strong head wind which limited my speed to just under 30 mph. The head wind also slowed my on Lakeview Parkway some.
I loved this ride! It is a nice mix of flats and hills. It has only 2 miles of riding in what I would call city type traffic, but that two miles is on a 25 mph speed limit road where the motor vehicles pretty much obey the speed limit. I kept up with the motor traffic over this entire stretch - thanks to the stop lights.
