2017-09-18 06:47:52 DAY 9: SOCORRO, NM TO RUIDOSO, NM.
"PEOPLE'S MINDS ARE CHANGED THROUGH OBSERVATION AND NOT THROUGH ARGUMENT." (Will Rogers). Today's 105 mile route turned out to be a long one as it followed yesterday's "Queen" stage. Most riders were fairly tuckered out from the cumulative miles ridden. In addition there was 6500' of climbing with some 10% grades. I joked that there was probably a hill between my bed and the bathroom. However, mission accomplished and this was the 9th of 27 days, 33.33% of the tour "notched". Ruidoso is a mountain resort town in the Sierra Blanca Mountain range. Ski Apache ski resort is owned by the Mescalero Apache tribe. The town is the 4th fastest growing city in New Mexico. Actor Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser) is from here. Tomorrow we continue on our trip across New Mexico as we head for Roswell.

Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

GPX Track (.gpx)
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
