(Albert Einstein) Put another way...the last 8 miles into El Centro, CA seemed like 30. The last 30 miles into Amarillo, TX seemed like 8. Another wonderful riding day. Most of our time was spent heading northeast on the shoulder of Rt. 60 with a 20 mph tail wind. Along the way I saw much agricultural industry. Cattle feed lots, grain elevators, trucking and many trains. Another A plus day of riding. Amarillo is the county seat of Potter county. It sits at 3600' and has a population of 201,324. Self proclaimed "Helium Capitol of the World" The V-22 Osprey tilt wing air craft is assembled here. The city name is taken from the Spanish word for yellow, as in the color of the river bank soil and the profuse yellow flowers that grew here. Crepuscule descends, sleep well.
