Tourist mode, finding new trails

I intended to find a new way to Nelson, NV which avoided the illegal portion on the US 95/93/11 freeways due to Old US 95 being blocked. Two options were 8-10 miles on unpaved roads but when I got there, the sand was 2-3" once I got about half mile in, so I had to abort those until I use a proper mountain bike. My gravel bike can't handle that. But perseverance paid off! I found I could go on River Mountain Trail, divert to a rideable gravel road, go under a bridge that RM trail was on, then that takes me to the legal part of US95! Mapping software doesn't know this route. I'm happy.

    Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices

  • TCX Course

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
