Rode for first 47:02 and 15.3 km before accidentally saving the ride on the Garmin, so this is the second "half" of my longest ride ever (Garmin even said so at the end of this 73.8!) So call it 89.1 km and 5:14:44 added up. It even STARTED screwy: Praise Buddah for Monterey County's upkeep of back country roads because SLO sucks at it: I'm fond of saying (concerning that first stretch of IVR after you angle off on it from River in San Miguel) that the SLO roads are great backyard training for the cobblestone streets of France. Crimson Tide took a beating coming and going, but the predominance of road after the County Line was smooth as silk. I was already running behind schedule, forgetting NOT to have coffee beforehand and entering a conversation with guest of new owner of Station AND I think I should probably take an added top layer in nearly-October mornings. So when I accidentally touched the screen at a water break when the time shut down, it was par for the course. But this route is really spectacular, the one serious incline before the last decline that empties into Peachtree is a bear for me right now (and especially on 90 km rides), so I walked some of it while keeping the clock running (forward progress, right?). All in all a good tune-up for 100 k coming up October 5th because I learned that I should probably consult map on sanctioned event rides so I can break down segments and relieve myself of that mental stress, thereby focusing on pedaling. That ride (Wine & Roses) will serve as benchmark-setter for 1-per-month such 100K's, 12 to comprise a year's worth as I envision it, before moving on to true Centuries.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
