A gorgeous Day! Rugged but open and beautiful scenery, and mostly downhill. It helped that we had a tailwind, but this day was not particularly challenging and one of my best days on a bike. The shoulder was very consistent throughout the day and generally pretty good with an appropriate and protective rumble near the road. Around mile 41 for the 2nd rest stop required some gravel roads and we could have just stayed on the main road instead. Neil said the town was very hospitable and would do a rest stop for us next time though. I’m not sure who to contact about that. The rest stop also was a site marked with a sign showing the very first person who had ever ridden a bicycle across the USA, which was neat. The Little America rest up for the final rest stop of the day was very close to the second one, but because of the $.75 ice cream that they had been advertising for miles and miles, it was a very popular stop and worth seeing. Everyone enjoyed the soft serve ice cream. A great day!
