This was our last ride with our beloved adventure buddy, Dusty. I had hoped his health would improve with heart medications for ou planned 3 we trip in August. During the night as he lay, heart pounding, and gasping for breath on my chest, it became clear that this was his last adventure.
Dusty has worked as a certified therapy dog with people on the autism spectrum, and with people suffering from PTSD. He has canoe tripped and hiked for 16 years. Over the past 3 years he has taken many dog packing trips. He has made me be brave when times got sketchy in the backcountry. He has helped me to become a better person. I have never kn such an amazing dog as this little guy! He will be gr missed.
