Another beautiful day in the mountains on the MTB. With the help of topographic data loaded into my Garmin 705, (the contour lines were of significant benefit), I was able to successfully ride and map a loop route that is absolutely breath taking! The route both begins and ends at Bear Creek Lodge. The fall colors and many vistas are amazing!! The route consists primarily of old service and/or access roads so there isn't a great deal of technical riding although experience on the MTB is highly recommended. In addition, the route includes some substantial climbing, (we're on a mountain), therefore being in good physical condition is a must. The route is 20 miles long and ridden enjoyably, (with rest, nutrition and photo stops along the way of course), in approximately 4.5 hrs. Can't wait to ride this one with my MTB buds!
