I had lab today, so I decided to go for a ride at noon. Knowing that it would take around 1:15 hrs, it was ideal. The weather was cold, winds from the south. I wore arms, knees, 2 base layers, and my skull cap. The way out was faster than average, which is to be expected on the windy conditions of today. I took off my skull cap at the base of the climb, but ended up putting it back on after the 2nd riser. My ailments were minimal. my right knee was still a bit bruised but didn't pose any siginificant hinderance. My back felt fine today. The ailments of today was having to endure the head-wind conditions. Being that it was cold made it a bit more challenging than usual. This was apparent in my concentration. I just couldn't get my mind to focus steadily. I have a lot to do this week. I've been preoccupied, and that's just me. The ride was one of those that I had to coach myself. Balance was good. With my knee mostly healed, my legs felt well balanced. Gear is working well, I had to problems there. Still trying to figure out some of the clicking going on. But today, I would call it acceptable noise. More observations on this later in the week. Other notes, there were some cows in the field, next to the turn-out with the troff.
Edit: In terms of pace, it was all modest. Like always, I approach a head-wind by refraining from putting myself near or in the red zone.
