Another great day to ride. Tailwind most of the way, a good coffee stop and picnic. We stopped at a Flanders nationalist memorial, built after WW1, later destroyed, and now being rebuilt. After the picnic, the detours began. First the ferry crossing had room for only 20 bikes, and we are 30, plus others in the queue, so ten of us backtracked to the bridge. Luckily we found a way to get back on the route. There was another detour due to construction and the group split up with two ways to get around it. I chose the long way, but we had a really nice tailwind. Next detour was in Brugge, with a closed bridge, but backtrack to the last available bridge solved the problem. Last kerfuffle was a canal between the bike lane and hotel. We could see it but not get there without another backtrack.
