Single track training at Garden Route Trail Park (amazing - try it if you have a chance, Morne - probably the best in the country!). I tried to keep the cadence around 75-80 rpm's. Heart rate wasn't really an issue. These guys know the trails and are more experienced on single track than me, but I kept on their tails. They were a bit slow on the uphill sections, but I was fighting a stomach bug (the last 3 days) and wanted to play it safe, so kept at the back of the pack. Let's put it this way: it wasn't just my jaw I was clenching on the uphill climbs! :)
I've just heard back from Dryland Management - I'm out of luck for the Attakwas unless I buy someone else's entry and switch registration the day before. I'm not sure that'll happen, but how about if this week, I keep training as if I was doing the race. I'll know by the weekend if I've found an entry, so we can either do a recovery week, or just carry on with more training. I'm going to be strong for something eventually! )

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
