20240717 #logdriverswaltz Day 5 Today rode 135 and climbed 1,845m. Woke up about 5am on the floor of Denholm's day camp screened shelter. Paul made porridge for breakfast. Community workers arrived but just to ask if we were OK, and kindly show us where the electrical outlets were. Yesterday a cap came off my back molar. The jagged remains are rubbing cutting my tongue, making it difficult to eat. The ride was relatively easy from the start until we left Wakefield and entered Gatineau Park and started the brutally rough and steep trail climbs. Once we got to the top Gatineau Park lookout we had a steep bone rattling descent to Chelsie. With many mini climbs. In Chelsie we bought some food and beer for ourselves, and some beer for our hosts Chris Panasky (https://www.bikepackadventures.ca/) and Sima. Chris is a french and science tgʻeacher who also creates bikepackadventures blogs. Paul McEvoy and I are staying in the garage. They fed us pie and fruit, and let us have a shower and wash and dry our laundry. It will be super nice tomorrow to put on clean dry cycling clothes.
