Training objective: 60 mins H/R at 155-160 and cadence at 65-75.
I did a 10 minute warm-up (Lap/Split 1), then a 60 minute hard ride (Lap/Split 2), followed by a short cool-down back to the bike storage locker (Lap/Split 3).
Super gusty winds today. I nearly lost it with a very strong side gust at one point. And was nearly hit by cars a few times. I won't bore you with the details - it was exciting, but I must be quite relaxed, as I don't see a significant spike in my heart rate at the 29 minute mark... :)
I'm still feeling strong (and I'm pretty well back to my pre-vacation Fitness/Fatigue levels on Strava).
I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to do a hard ride yesterday until it was too late (I mis-labelled the rides "Tempo Rides" in case you checked earlier this week). I'm not trying to ignore your coaching - honest! Just been a bit distracted this week I guess. I figured I should keep on the programme, so I went out and di the hard ride again today.
Tomorrow is a rest day. Even though I'm feeling strong, I'll take the day off - I promise! I'm looking forward to the group ride on Saturday and then a Tempo ride on my own on Sunday, so hope that'll work for you and you won't think I've done too much (besides Monday is also a rest day). Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
