To do again ... and again!
Lv early and lunch at the Abbaye Des Vaux De Cernay (mile 53.3 ).
Nice mix of French countryside, open roads, good climbs, farms and forests, river valleys, and Paris.
The approach to the Palace of Versailles (on this route, by bicycle) cannot be beat!
But ... before getting there, there is a treat to be had riding through the Forêt de Meudon (this route goes through the forest on the return too). "La forêt constitue une importante réserve d'oxygène pour la capitale." And, as you climb the reserve's winding roads, through magnificent trees, past ponds and streams, you too will feel your spirit emboldened and fortified by refreshing vapors.
Riding in France is fun and easy - everyone behaves. Two days riding, well over 200 miles on all kinds of roads: not a single horn, not a single aggressive move by a motorist!
