Didn't have super high exp for this race, my goal was 1:25:00 (8:30/mi) and I came in under that by a little bit. I'm not sure how but I had to pee during the race even though I peed 3x before, I'd guess it's nerves, but it was a lot of pee.
Used the pace pro plan for a basic outline of my goal and that quickly went out the window for the first half of the race. I felt really good and strong. Strong until about mile 6 and then the wheels came off a bit. I was feeling pain and thirsty and kinda wanted to stop. I put my earbuds in and pushed myself as hard as I could. It helped that I walked through the water stops, gave me a nice small break.
I like the change in course more than I thought. I do wish there were more water stops. I struggled with hydration a bit. Other than that racing solo was a good reminder that it's just me out there.
I was happy to do my first running race since frostbite in 2020. Happy to have pushed myself hard. All in all I'm happy.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
