Springbrook Prairie Fat Bike Ride 7-29-24

Trek Farley 9.6. Partly sunny, warm and humid, SW/West winds 6-8 mph, gusts 15-18 mph. Pretty day with periods of sun and clouds, pretty hot when the sun was out. Two full loops, once in each direction on both sections of the prairie.

Beautiful prairie in bloom, quite a few cyclists, hikers and runners out, plus rabbits, birds and at least one deer. Tons of wildflowers, getting pictures to identify them really slowed me down but it was worth it. Gorgeous sunny & cloudy vistas throughout the ride.

Trails conditions good even after the early morning rain. Grass sections in the SE quad were a bit rough but passable. Stopped by Solemn Oath Brewery afterwards to rehydrate.
