Well it didn't really get wet until the last 13 miles, along the towpath. Didn't mind the on and off showers, other than they caused the towpath grit to stick to the legs, the bike, everywhere. At least the showers kept the hordes of hoverbugs down.
Not as enamored of the thundering, but it seemed to be behind and across the river (it was a Virginia storm!) and kept me cranking right along to stay away...
Happy with the choice to ride towpath last instead of the usual towpath first, THEN the climbing. Pretty good South wind, so doing the north legs first made sense. The stretch from 10.3 to 14.5 was allegedly into the wind but it is also quite downhill...
Stupid detour still in place at Edwards Ferry. Lots of limbs down and shredded canopy at Riley's Lock, as if it had *just* happened at the start. Weather seemed fine at that point; the thunderstorms that eventually arrived were miles away to the west at that time.
Body was tired after but part of that was riding faster than usual on the towpath to get ahead of/away from thunder. And the fact the towpath is SUPREMELY boring ... one long green tunnel ...

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
