Bit of a damp day, with intermittent drizzle and rain. Quite warm though. Fairly windy. Forgot to take my heart rate monitor. Had taken my bike in to Sevenoaks Bike Warehouse the day before, and got the front gear cable replaced - it had frayed and this was causing the problems. Excellent service whilst I waited. Gears changing nicely again on my ride. Took my camera, but limited opportunity for photos with the rain and reduced visibility. The Avenue and Chestnut Avenue were a bit muddy - but still cyclable. Not much fun though - might have been better just going up the main road. Steep hill on Cacket's Lane I hadn't been up before, and, even more so, Stubbs Hill (19% on device), which is on my Pound Lane route to work (in the other direction). New Year's Lane was new to me, narrow and plenty of mud and detritus on it, but fairly flat and the potential to be very nice on a good day.
