Sad that it's August and this is the longest ride of the year ... pitiful. Getting the legs and especially contact points ready for the Covered Bridge Classic in Lancaster in two weeks (!!). Started as early as possible and that paid off. Foggy and cloudy to start and REALLY humid but with temps in the 70s it was actually quite good for an August ride. Sun came out in the last 30 minutes, which reaffirmed start time decision. Legs are fine and will not be a problem in two weeks (especially with a few long-ish rides between now and then). The contact points, however, they will need some work. Smartly took several 5 or 10 minute breaks to let the contacts rest. CBC ride has 5 stops spread over 66 miles, much closer together than the stops today.... And FINALLY I'm over 1000 miles for the year; probably the latest ever in the last 10 years. Pitiful.
