Merry Christmas to all and may your day be blessed with love, togetherness and good health! Now to the ride, the first 10 miles was a warm-up without resistance the last 10 miles was with the resistance set to maximum. The first 7 miles I shifted to a gear that I could ride as if I was riding either up hill like a 4-6 % grade or into a 10-12 mph head wind using the big ring up front (52 teeth) and the 3rd one down (19 teeth) the last 3 miles was a higher cadence cool down front 42 teeth and rear 21 teeth. The resistance is consistent, lower the gear the greater the resistance. What I did notice it was like riding into a head wind if you can get the cadence up in the gear it is a little easier but you must maintain the effort which isn't easier. I can see the full resistance getting you stronger but not something I would use every ride. With no resistance the rollers are much smother and has a much more road feel. In the hardest gear the resistance is about as hard as riding up a 15% grade or so. The main difference here vs riding up hill is you can not stop pedal because the rollers come to an immediate stop. Making the resistance adjustable would make the ride much more effective as you can tailor the ride better to suit out doors if following a route with terrain elevation you could adjust the resistance to suit. I have a few ideas of how to make the resistance adjustable. I will try them and figure which is the best one. The hardest thing is actually the cable part and handle bar mount with gauge. As far as the ride it felt good and the resistance actually felt good once it was over. My fan started burn up so I had to turn it off after 10 miles, so I started to sweat up a storm. I think one or two more easy days and I will be ready to do a hard ride. Legs still do not feel 100%.
