Natalie and I turned our day right around in the best possible way.
Independently of each other, we were starting the morning off on the wrong side of the bike. Today was originally going to be about meeting up with Kira who's still off the bike recovering.
Our plan was to ride through the neighborhoods adjacent to Woodside Rd. since we hadn't done them in a while. The Sharon Heights neighborhood is pretty nice. At one point we saw a new house for sale and Natalie asked me to guess how much I thought it was. It was pretty nice but I guessed $3M. Natalie laughed at how much I underbid and she guessed $5.7M. Well we were both wrong as it ended up being $7.38M (when we checked later at the bakery - https://www.zillow.com/homes/980-Monte-Rosa-Dr-Menlo-Park,-CA-94025_rb/15599395_zpid/).
After that, I was ironically, calling out nice houses and giving them low values. I think at first Natalie thought I was being serious and laughing at how bad my guesses were and later when she realized I was being ironic, laughed even harder at some of my hot takes.
At one point I said, facetiously, if I was rich enough to own a home in the neighborhood, I'd have an old growth redwood transplanted to the property. And Natalie said you want a sequoia instead. Something bigger. Then I joked, I'd have the General Sherman sequoia moved to the property. :) Oh and it would need to have a big waterfall too.
That really turned our morning around and we had a great time seeing beautiful homes and at the same time just ripping them to shreds.
Since it was just us, we kind of ditched the route and went to Atherton instead. I think it was with the intention of seeing nice homes but it turned into more brutal critiquing and laughing.
And unfortunately it was trash day in that neighborhood and we just happened to be going in a circle in the opposite direction as the garbage truck so we kept seeing it multiple times.
On the way to meet Kira we were in traffic on Jefferson and Natalie asked me what I thought this license plate meant - "M8PLEAF". I said, "maple leaf". She read it as "maple AF" which I thought was great and that would be my wrestler name. :)
We arrived at Mademoiselle Colette at exactly the same time as Kira, which was perfect. She even brought us some yummy baked goods too!
