Once I got outside and realized how windy it was today, I was dreading the return trip home. The headwind on the way back crushed me. ðŸ˜
I haven't been over to Coyote Hills in a while and I was sort of craving some Mr. Pickles and I thought some nice easy roadbikeable gravel by the Bay would be nice. The tailwind on the way over was very nice.
My Garmin said today's workout should be "Sprint" so I sprinted for several traffic lights throughout the day.
I stopped for some water at Coyote Hills and a woman asked if my tires were okay for riding on gravel. I guess she noticed they were white from riding on gravel. I told her yeah. She asked me what kind of tires were they. Rather than tell her they were GP5000S TRs, which I don't think would've meant anything to her, I just told her they were road tires and you can ride them on the gravel that's in the park.
Mr. Pickles was especially good today. After lunch I decided to loop around the long way to get back on the bike path. I think maybe that just meant more time into the headwind.
Alameda Creek Trail going out to the levee is always pretty bad but the headwind today was especially bad.
I had planned to go home the way and came but I opted to head into Atherton to avoid the headwind on the Bay Trail. It worked really well but as soon as I got to Redwood City, the headwind was back - all the way back home.
I couldn't believe how gassed my legs were so I stopped for a Frappuccino. It gave me a boost which I needed for the final climb home.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
