Ollie M is visiting for the weekend and I took him on my preferred ride out to the coast. We had gorgeous weather today and a good group - I merged several friend groups together. Ollie brought Matt and James, and I invited Ali, and Bob and Sonny. Ollie said he was slow and we explicitly said that anyone wanting to hammer was going to get reverse dropped. We kept the pace chill and enjoyed the scenery. Ali forgot her cycling shoes and she was going to ride in her Tevas which looked very funny. I let her try my running shoes because she would've preferred something closed-toe and luckily they worked. Climbing up through Huddart, we established if people at the front were going to fast, we’d yell out “tootle” to slow it down. 😂 When we got to Lobitos Creek Rd., it looked like there might be some fog in Half Moon Bay but the whole ride ended up being sunny and nice. I guess based on how I ordered (like everything), Ali over-ordered thinking maybe the portions were small. She hasn't learned yet that I just get everything. 🤣 The dessert today at Dad's were Blueberry Cannolis. I didn't read that it comes with 3. When I saw that, I told everyone we didn't need to order as many but people still got their own and we ended up with leftovers. I think between the 7 of us, we had 5 orders or 15 cannolis. The ocean was multiple shades of turquoise today and very pretty. All the scenery today warmed my heart and brought me such joy. There were many hot, hot takes today, one of them being that I think this ride is better than Pescadero Loop. Bob's been out of town and off the bike for two weeks and I only realized how much he was suffering today after going through the photos. 😬
