On a beautiful spring day, I rode a loop that included Busse Woods Trail, Salt Creek Greenway Trail, Illinois Prairie Path, and Great Western Trail. I didn’t intend to go 45 miles, but closures and detours on both side streets and the SCG trail added miles and time to my ride. I started riding at 11:55 a.m., reached the Busse Woods loop at 12:43 p.m., followed most of the loop (cw) and exited at 1:19. Following the Salt Creek Greenway Trail, I reached the Illinois Prairie Path at 2:42, mistakenly followed it for awhile, then took Grace Street in Lombard to pick up the Great Western Trail at 3:11. I left the GWT at 3:47 and arrived home at 4:36. Skies were mostly - partly sunny with temperatures of 61 - 67 and very light S - WSW winds. I wore bib tights, LS jersey, and LG gloves.
