2018-04-30 Lou’s Ride to LSU Water Campus

Water campus is a great public project of the Coastal Protection Restoration Authority, including an informational area and an analog model to evaluate the effect of river diversion projects in on land rebuilding, using simulated sediments. Scope of the model is the Mississippi River delta from Donaldsonville to the mouth. Horizontal scale is 1 ft to 1 mile, vertical scale is 1 mm to 1.2 ft., and 10 gpm (max) is 1,100,000 cfs Model is made of impervious foam with a coating, and computer routed to match GIS data. All proposed diversion models are included, and presumably can be switched on and off, and effect of river flowrates tested.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
