Island Park Bikepacking with Jer Day 2: Teardrop Lake to Shotgun Valley

Leaving Teardrop Lake, we climbed Fish Creek road and connected into the non-motorized road system behind closed gates up on the plateau and Black Canyon. These roads are beautiful, remote and slow going. We eventually dropped down to Big Springs, then rolled towards more civilization for our first resupply.

With spirits lifted and bellies full, we rolled West towards the Centennials, following roads skirting the Island Park Reservoir into Shotgun Valley.

Just inside the National Forest boundary, we stopped at a nice camp to call it a night. Elks have been bugling and coyotes yipping with the moon shining through the trees.

It'll be a cold one tonight, dropping into the mid-20s.

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
