The route has earned glowing reviews thanks to the scenic beauty of its two river valleys, including the rocky formations of the Franconian Jura, which give the Altmühl River its unique charm. The “romantic” atmosphere of the Tauber-Altmühl route is further enhanced by the medieval towns of Franconia, with the famous Rothenburg ob der Tauber, consistently ranked as one of the top attractions in Germany.
