Today's weather was perfect for a ride. Mild winds from the north, cool, and sunny skies. My legs felt nice and supple from the beginning. I was sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached the start of the downhill. I cruised the downhill, all the while soft pedaling. I got to the base of the climb in average time, around 28 minutes or so. When I started the ascent, it took a few minutes for my legs to get warmed up again. But when they did, I felt real good. My legs were there for the entire ascent. I was able to hold good tempo for most of the climb, but dropped it to moderate tempo on a few occasions. When I sensed that my momentum was decreasing, I was able to get out of the saddle and stay on top of the pedals. In terms of ailments, I had none. It was a perfect ride in that respect. I'm sure the clear and cool air helped. My concentration was good for the most part, pretty much the best as it's going to get. Balance was good, with moderate conscious correcting here and there. Gear is working well, however, the gears were slipping when I started the final descent after reaching the summit. It started to skip when I was in my 9th gear and big ring. My suspicion is that the chain has stretched and that it requires calibrating the electronic shifting. Other notes, I saw a small fire just after reaching the loop, on the way down. No clue if I captured it on video.
