Another nice (but, sigh, short) afternoon so take advantage and let's fiddle with "rebound" and other suspension-related settings. There is quite a different feel between a steel hardtail and a carbon full-suspension bike and the old man's adjustment continues. Strategy today was to be on very familiar trails again. Of course, there was the mile stretch from 8 to 9 on a trail that is not quite official ... and has become plagued with a lot of deadfall and much less traffic to keep the trail open... It'd been a long time since the last trip down it. Pretty nice to climb that ridiculous bit at 8.4 with that dinnerplate-sized 51-tooth rear cog and the descent down the other side was far easier than remembered... Legs still good, even as we slide deeper into November; fitness decent.
