Such a fuck - up of a day . And I was warned . A disaster . I was warned that the weather would be cloudy in the centre of the country but I hoped that by the time I got there it would start to clear . No luck . It was not till after 12AM that it started ti clear . And it was very dangerous . Firstly I was on main roads most of the time so there was a lot of traffic , and of course it was going quite fast and therefore dangerous. So I decided to stop and have a cuppa in Summerhill to do a re-think that I might turn around and head home . But the weather had become a very small bit better , or maybe not as bad . So I decided to go on . By the time I had got as far as Trim it was a small bit better but still very damp. So I had a meagre meal in Navan and set off to Drogheda . I went along the South side of the Boyne to discover that they were doing some roadworks and traffic was diverted but I went along the pedestrian path so I was OK. But ......it was a metal finish . I was going along very slowly and just for safety reasons I braked or slowed down very softly to avoid this large item of plant . In the process I fell off the bike . I was not going too fast and was OK , but bike was not . I got a puncture . It must have been the crash , what else? So I had all the gear , a new tube . I could not get the air into it , s I tried another one and that was OK . So what should have taken about 20 mins took about an hour . So , all in all a crap cycle and a broken bike which is making a strange sound when I cycle it . I'll have a look tomorrow. I literally have one number pain in my hole . Between last Saturday and today I think this was the worst cycling week I have ever had. Better luck next time .
