Temps were in the high 50s or low 60s, depending on whose thermometer you believed, but after a solid week of highs in the 30s, bitter north wind and overnights in the low 20s, it felt like spring! Alas, it is still early December, but you betcha there was Outdoor Riding after all that Pelotoning... Chose to ride alone after previous several rides have been a struggle to keep up and not much fun. Pretty good wind from the west, so made sure it was a north-south route. The little west-heading leg from 6.4 to 9.3 wasn't bad -- it's a series of rollers so the wind isn't as much a factor. Legs felt surprisingly good even toward and at the end. The 100-feet 0.3-mile climb on Cattail Road (13.5) did not destroy the legs either, surprisingly. Stopped again briefly at 18.3 to stare at a burnt-to-the-ground house. Huge house, maybe 10K square feet, destroyed about a month ago. The destruction is staggering in person. Contact points are a little out of shape and still gotta work on the posture, but all in all quite enjoyable. And completely surprised at the average speed... did not think the ride was that fast, especially wtith all that climbing between 10 and 22.
