The RVP had a great turnout again this year and the weather was probably the best it's been within the last four at least. The temperature in the low 50's to start and moved up to the mid 50's prior to the wind kicking up. The course was modified at the last minute this year due to road repairs made by the county. It's quite understandable the need to place larger rock throughout the dirt section of the course due to the type of dirt in the Palouse and a requirement to support large farm vehicles etc. The downside is 1.5" crushed basalt that is 3 to 5 inches deep in some places isn't conducive to a skinny tire road race. The change was to the original course utilized in 2010. Great effort on part of all riders and a special thanks to the SRV gang for another well organized event!
