Morning mountain bike ride with Kim (the first of two for the day). First time for either of us on this route that I vetted on RWGPS, using trail maps together with the satellite view. We had a few locked fences to climb over, but nothing otherwise gave the "feel" that we were trespassing, invading anyone's privacy, or doing any injury to anything. Basically, we were on trails marked on the USGS topo maps. There was some recent fire damage in the area, but I am not sure it was from the Powerhouse fire; it may have been much more recent than that. This was a nice ride, and a great, little adventure. (We did miss the little loop I had mapped for our route, though, by heading left instead of right at the fork at mile 8.1, but I think going left is better if you are not going to circle back and return down the left fork.) There was a tall gate standing open near the end of the extra "adventurous" part of the ride as we neared CA-138; if that was at mile 11.87, then, if found locked, it could easily be circumvented by heading right to the wheel ruts, then turning left onto the dirt road - which is the cue sheet entry but not the track I showed on our mapped route:

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
