I decided to try something different today. I've been kicking around the idea of how to ride over to the start of the Tuesday Night Adobo Velo ride. One problem is what do I do after the ride to get home? The ride wraps up late enough that riding home is pretty much out of the question most nights. I really don't want to be rolling up to the house at 11:30 at night. I finally came up with the idea of driving to Pedal & Pour in the morning, riding to work and back, and then driving home after dinner. Today was the first run of my new Tuesday.
The ride to campus was an absolute dream for the most part. It is pretty much downhill for the entire ride with a couple decent bumps along the way. On top of that the pavement along Hacienda is gorgeous for a majority of its length. The ride back to Pedal & Pour was great once I was clear of the Strip. Overall, it was definitely worth it.
Tonight's ride was cancelled as there was rain in the area and it certainly looked like it was going to come down. Mother nature had other plans and the west valley remained dry as a bone. Regardless, we had a solid group of seven, including myself, show up to PTs for a nice chill dinner and hang out session.
Another solid haul for the new bike fund. Found the Euro near the intersection of Sunset and the Beltway. Much of the rest of it was in a single haul I came across after making the turn onto Hacienda on the way into work.
A nice solid commute segment and now I'm looking forward to next week when I get to tack on the regular Tuesday night ride.
