Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

The GPS didn't record for a significant amount of time while with the TRC group. From comparing with Geo's data it seems I lost about 3 miles worth. I hate it when that happens! I think that is probably where it shows a gradient of 19.3%. That is obviously wrong. I didn't climb anything near that steep.
I averaged 16.4 mph on the 11.7 mile going to the ride. I left home 10 minutes late and RidewithGPS estimated it would take me 56 minutes, but I only had 50 minutes. I knew I would be late if I didn't make up 5 minutes on what my normal rate would be. I kept thinking I need to keep up the speed and push a little bit more than normal-but don't overdo it. Well, it only took me 46 minutes to get there and I was 5 minutes early, so I did it 10 minutes faster than my norm would have been.
I had an enjoyable time riding and socializing with Randy, Geo, Donnie, and Greg.
Randy even gave us a history lesson about the now defunct El Paso line railroad right-of-way that Tucson has plans to make into a multi-use path.
All in all, I rode about 48.5 miles today.
Greg, Randy, and I all started our rides home back along the 3rd Ave. Bike Blvd. First Greg peeled off, the Randy. I, of course, went all the way to the end and then had another six miles on top of that. Before Randy peeled off he mentioned that I would have the good fortune of two character building features on my ride home. He was talking about going uphill and into a headwind.
He was correct, but not complete. At about Kolb it started to rain as well. At Pantano it was a steady rain. It did let up after a bit, but the road was all wet and there was standing water for a good mile or two. I got soaked. It did dry up, however, for the last two miles of my ride.
