Edessa to Florina
Day 12 of our Istanbul to Lisbon tour. If you get a chance you should stop at the bike shop about 300m from the start in Edessa, with a lovely friendly old guy. He told us to take the route North of the lakes, warned us of the steep climbs too, but how right he was. Best views of the trip so far overlooking the lake on the climb up to Kella at the top. We found some of the climbing too much at times, and hate to admit but got off and walked for some of it. But well worth giving it your best try. There is a great roadside restaurant in Kella which you can use as a lunch stop.
