Never arrive late to a flat run ride. I arrived today just as the group was leaving. Grabbed bike and gear, adjusting on the fly , glad my Garmin was cooperating and here I go on the tail end of the group.
No cue sheet, and RWGPS didn’t find my pinned route.
So I hang on waiting on an opportunity to get straight.
50 milers mingled in with the 32 milers all in hammer mode.
@mile 11 I got RWGPS online and talking to me. Paired up with CiCi who was also doing the 50 mile route and we are off.
We got to the second Rest Stop just as most of the 50 milers ahead of us were leaving. Picked up one more 50 miler (Jasen) and we’re off again. I’m loving my AVS (17) 32 miles in the 50 mile route.
RWGPS later alerts me to roads I had not anticipated ( no cue sheet) Croom Rd and Bald Eagle Rd. AVS 17 whittled down to 15.7.
Long story short get in early enough to get a cue sheet to plan how you’re going to ride.
I had a great time today riding in spite of my logistical short comings. Another life lesson learned (hopefully)

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
