A group of 21 riders gathered at Belair Station this Wednesday for an great ride. Many of us caught the train from the city, meeting up with others who were already waiting there, ready to hit the gravel. Our route? Stirling and back down to the city, with a well-deserved stop at the Miss Perez Kitchen and Bar.
Thanks to Bob’s foresight, he had booked two tables for our group of 21. The menu offered a great variety of choices, and the service was exceptional – the perfect way to refuel.
The route took us through Belair Park, where we tackled a 100% gravel path leading us up to Sheaoak Road. From there, we steered clear of most of the bitumen, opting for scenic single-track trails that took us most of the way to Stirling.
After Stirling, we hopped onto the Crafers-City trail, where we were able to let loose and enjoy some downhill speed. A few riders took full advantage of the descent, carrying that momentum all the way to the Tollgate, while most opted for the Bullock Track, heading down towards Mount Osmond to add a bit more off-road adventure to their ride.

Good turnout and, yes it was a good idea to book tables. We often find ourselvs spread around the Cafe when there is a big turnout. Couple of faces I recognise, did I see Dean there? And I love the clouds and reflection in the water.
