Every year, Major Motion supports the Deputies of L.A. County Sheriff's Department Station 27 (Marina del Rey) in the relay run to honor all fallen peace officers, especially those from local agencies. This is a relay run from station to station. We ride escort for a group of deputies that run from their station in Marina del Rey, CA to the West Hollywood station - a distance of 10.5 miles. The deputies run carrying a LARGE unit flag and a torch. These are not professional or even sport runners - these are cops pushing themselves to and beyond their limits in memory of their comrades. We are truly honored to be invited year after year.
After the Honor Ride about half our group continued on to a nice climb up Benedict Canyon Drive to Mulholland Dr., then we smashed on the rollers on Mulholland all the way to Sepulveda @ the 405 freeway. From there it was a mad speed run to the Veterans Administration compound in West L.A., followed by a leisurely ride back to Dock 52 in Marina del Rey.
