Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Eleven loiters headed off to St Albans via the Ebury Way. We stopped early for coffee at Watford Top Golf as other opportunities are scarce in these parts. Then up NCR 6 past the defunct Old Fox for first NL at the Picture House in School Lane. More - much more of NCR 6 followed and by the time we reached Verulamium Park we were mightily hungry. So, we called a truce on NLs and repaired to the Waterend Barn. After lunch we entered the Gorhambury Estate and I nearly caused a peloton crash worthy of the T de F by slowing to point out the best view of the current hall. (Note to self most bikes lack brake lights). Self-guided NLs resumed at the site of Gorhambury Old Hall. And then the hills began. Bedmond Lane is best described as a drudge and whose mood is improved by reading a sign saying 'Slow" when you are travelling at 3 mph and about to go into cardiac arrest? Spirits lifted on the descent to Kings Langley and the charge along the canal to the Bean Here cafe. A tiny one person operation. Probably not a good stop if it’s raining though, as all but about 4 of you would get very wet. Nice ride, nice group and good to see what happens in the nether regions of a long ride without having to put in Kinseyesque kilometrage. (Not sure that's a proper word. Ed).
