Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Ride this route frequently? Select the ride (or a section of it) in the elevation profile and create a segment to compare your ride performance against yourself (and others).
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Is this mountain, road or gravel? Me thinks it's a mix without pulling out Bing/Google street view.
@MountainFit -- this looks like the last couple miles of TATR (minus the return to Northville). The first bit is mostly paved or gravel, but miles 21-29 are some of the burliest riding/HAB around!! I've "ridden" that section twice and lost count of how many downed trees you have to lift your bike over/under. A real adventure, and you get waaay out in the Wilcox Lake Wild Forest. I'd recommend MTB!
Thanks. There is a way around that. I have it rigged as a gravel ride. I realized it was the TATR and even though my trek hybrid Xbike turned gravel bike is technically a MTB, I don't really like MTB (I'm a former XC racer, I'm also a former road racer and triathlete, I prefer gravel... Best of both worlds). TATR light is more my speed! Thank you for replying to the question.
Right on! It's so remote out there I'm sure the gravel is awesome. Cool to see someone doing research and piecing together gravel routes! Cheers.
I'll link the overnight I put together if that's possible on here. I've been looking to put together some stuff in the Adirondacks, most the the quality overnights are actually closer to me in Vermont (I can theoretically ride to them) but I've spent most of my adult life hiking, climbing and paddling in the Adirondacks so I feel like there should be more by bike I can exploit with my knowledge.
