Beautiful, remote and lonely ride on silky smooth pavement to Arivaca and back. However you must use caution as there are no shoulders, lots of rutted pavement drop offs, and countless blind hills and curves. A rear view mirror is a must have for this ride. Traffic is very light but I would not ride this on Fridays or Saturdays when more traffic may be present. One person I met in town also said don't ride on the weekends. I also encountered two large semis. Most enjoyable is the long clear descent into the town of Arivaca with a wide shoulder, which you will also have for most of the climb out of town before heading back into the danger zone. That said, this is a great ride! Challenging, too. Stop at the general store to refuel as there are no other water stops on this route. Find some shade at the Buenos Aires wildlife area. I parked at the longhorn grill and saloon and had lunch there after the ride. Enjoy, stay alert and be safe!
