I left a bit later than I would have liked thanks to going to bed a bit late the night previous but I still got a solid 6 hours of sleep and was out the door not much after 6. The plan was to make this ride a relatively easy 200+. Almost all pavement, much of it on fast state highways and few dead ends. I had a very sore neck the two or three days before this ride and it was getting a bit better each day but this morning it was much more sore than previously. Don't know if I slept wrong or what. Probably from lifting something heavy at work like always. I did briefly consider shortening the ride due to this as I knew it would be quite painful to do a long ride when turning my neck to the left hurt like crazy but I pressed on and while it was stiff and sore I managed it just fine. It felt a tiny bit better for the second half.
Not much to really report otherwise. It was a very fast ride with wind from the south swinging around to the southeast later in the ride. Quite hot in the upper eighties and mostly sunny. I stopped only twice. I held off till Roberta despite forgetting to bring my extra liter of water. I was moving fast enough that I made it on two bottles and one liter. Stopped again soon after in Yatesville and this saw me to the end. I probably should have drank a bit more throughout but my body seemed to be okay with the amount I did take in. Traffic was pretty good on this Easter Sunday. Highway 208 east of Talbotton might be the most deserted and little used state highway we have. It was a very fun little road that had some curves and small rollers and wasn't totally exposed. Other than Hollonville road across the river the other roads were somewhat deserted.
