Wow! Great Spring weather. About 60 degrees, winds from the North West. Perfect for going to Keene. I wore arms, legs, thick base layer and newspaper in the jersey. The legs felt good to start. I made it to the summit of the descent in good average time. I cruised the downhill and put in two digs on the risers. After reaching the base, I removed the newspaper in my jersey and then headed back up the mountain. The body responded well. It was interesting. I was listening to the GPS metrics announcements and it said that I was putting in over 200 watts. It's normally around 160 watts. I'm not sure what to make of it. Other than I calibrated the power meter before the start of the ride. More confirmation needed. The climb went as planned. I was doing no less then moderate tempo to the summit. I tried to keep the tempo steady while doing in and out of the saddle efforts. I had to let traffic by, so I was on traffic mitigation mode. After reaching the summit, I took a few moments to recover and then headed back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. The morale was good. I had a few things to think about. The weather helped while climbing. I was in the zone most of the time. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I fed a banana, grapes and a Clif Bar before departing. That held me over. Ailments were minimal. The usual hand numbness while grinding out of saddle. The quads and hips felt good today. Gear worked flawlessly. I will need confirmation the wattage I was putting out today, being that it was higher than normal.
