Rapha Japan Randonneé Day 6

Suigekko over the mountains to Kyoto. Lanterne Rouge again! Streams were deep and muddy due to today’s rain. Or was it yesterday’s rain? Or the tsunami on Tuesday? Or the pre-rain on Monday?

Biggest routing challenge day yet. Closed roads were routed around but things got worse. Note the tree across the road. Further on there were downed power lines we had to tiptoe around. Another downed power line blocked our planned access to Kyoto. A landslide blocked an alternate route but we mucked through it anyway. Then another power line blocked the alternate route. We spent an additional 3 hours on the road.

Rapha won’t be offering these tours or many tours in all in 2019.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
